Acclaim Health announces the availability of multiple Casual Personal Support Worker positions working days, evenings, weekends and split shifts in the Burlington, Oakville, and the North Halton Communities. This position requires individuals to work the weekend rotations and some Statutory Holiday commitments.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Provides homemaking and personal support services to individuals and families in the community setting.
Assist clients with their personal care and activities of daily living to clients, including bathing; grooming; dressing; mouth care; and checking skin integrity.
Collaborates with members of the health care team, the homemaking and personal support services team and family in decision-making regarding planning.
Provides bedside care in retirement homes as directed by the Nurse or otherwise directed by Supervisor.
Assist with the maintenance of catheter and colostomy bags when required.
Performs light housekeeping, including cleaning of clients personal laundry and bedding when required as part of the care plan.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Personal Support Worker Certificate
Registered on the Ontario PSW Registry as asset
First aid and CPR required
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
Ability to use mechanical equipment (hoyer lifts) when transferring clients
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Effective observation and listening skills
Valid Driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle required”
