The Village Riverside Glen, Retirement, located in Guelph Ontario currently has part time Personal Support Worker opportunities on days, evening, and nights.
The PSW acts as an advocate for residents and supports resident- centred service delivery. A PSW’s work is part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic needs are met and maximum choice and participation by residents in decision- making is promoted. PSWs assist the resident with all activities of daily living – personal hygiene and basic nursing care are provided by the PSW. The PSW observes and reports any changes in the resident’s status to the RPN or Charge Nurse.
The positions are ‘people intensive’, with a substantial component of the job involving fostering exemplary resident/family relations, and providing the highest level of customer service possible, with a concentration on flexible living and quality of life.
Qualifications:
Having a valid PSW Certificate that is 600 hours or greater and meets the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities, the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges, or the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association is an asset
Able to work as part of an inter-professional team
Able to provide exceptional customer service to all residents
Support and embrace a resident centred social culture
Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills
Sound knowledge of lift and transfer skills
Able to tolerate repetitive movements
Provide high quality personal care to residents
