Job Summary:
To provide efficient and safe transportation of patients, supplies, and equipment with in the Red Deer Regional Hospital and other designated areas.
Primary Function
Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the transportation of patients, materials and supplies.
Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12. At least one year experience in a similar position. Proven strong organizational and communication skills. Must be capable of standing and or walking for long periods of time. Ability to lift 20 kg of dead weight. Must be capable of pushing heavy stretchers, wheelchairs and beds for sustained period of time at a pace that allow the designated work to be performed in the allotted time.
Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with patients, staff and public. Demonstrates independence, as well as able to work in a team environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment in a calm and efficient manner. Working knowledge of medical processed supplies is preferred. Demonstrated ability for accuracy and detail. Experience with Data entry, Microsoft Outlook and Excel is required. Must be able to speak, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Maybe required to work in the following areas: Dispatch office, Diagnostic Imaging, Main Rehabilitation Department and or any other assigned work areas. Must be able to work evenings, days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
