Job Summary:
The Emergency attendant is an integral member of the health care team.  The primary duties include the portering of patients, supplies, and specimens to and from the Emergency department and the maintenance of adequate quotas of specific supplies in the patient care areas.  Other related duties include handling and transporting of waste and linen, processing of Emergency Equipment, and assistance in providing a sanitary environment in the patient care area.
Qualifications:
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider Registration (BCLS – HCP, AED Level C required). 1 year experience as a porter/attendant required.  One year experience in an emergency preferred.  English language comprehension, both oral and written is required.  Ability to work in a team environment is essential.  Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the job i.e. pushing stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and bending, reaching, is required.  Self motivated individual able to prioritize and organize workload, in a busy patient care environment.
