| The Nursing Attendant position reports directly to the Managers of Day Surgery. The Nursing Attendant is responsible for assisting nursing staff with the admission of pre-op patients and with the provision of post-operative patient care on Unit 41B (general surgery). The Nursing Attendant provides patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The Nursing Attendant will also assist with the stocking of supplies and equipment checks. |
| Qualifications: | |
| – Grade 12 or equivalent. – Graduate of a recognized Personal Care Attendant course or equivalent is preferred. – Current BCLS-HCP certification required. – 2 years recent experience in acute surgical inpatient setting required. – Strong interpersonal communication skills essential. – Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with, and receive direction from RN/LPN. – Ability to work in rapidly changing environment. |
