Job Summary:
The Nursing Attendant provides patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Responsible for performing tasks.
Qualifications:
– Recognized Nursing Attendant course required.
– Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required.
– Experience with elderly patients is preferred.
– Recent experience caring for acute med./surgery or medical – rehab patients.
– Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of health care professionals required.
– Must possess excellent verbal communication skills with elderly patients.
– Must have ability to read and write proficiently in English as Electronic charting is required.
– Basic computer skills are required. Ability to use and apply skill required to access and use PCIS-SCM is required related to activities of daily living and other specific procedures on the nursing unit.
