Job Summary:
The Nursing Attendant provides patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The Nursing Attendant provides direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the patients and their family members on a Neuromedical unit at the Rockyview Hospital. Also provides indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area.
Qualifications:
– Graduate from a recognized personal care attendant’s program or equivalent.
– Previous experience is an asset.
– Must be able to communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
– Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required.
– Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients/clients, families, visitors and team members.
– Well developed time management skills.
– Basic computer skills are an asset including SCM and R-ESP.
– Current BCLS-HCP certification required.
