Job Description
We are currently hiring for Light Duty Housekeepers and Regular Housekeeping Associates to perform all aspects of janitorial work at the UBC Hospital located in Vancouver, BC. This location is open 7 days per week, during the day and afternoon. Start Date: ASAP.
Important note: **A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment. Proof of immunizations and Tuberculosis Screening Test results will be required. **
Starting Wage: $12.69
Duties:
* Cleaning and maintaining all common areas such as floors, stairs, and carpets by performing tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, shampooing, dry/wet mopping, auto scrubbing and floor refinishing including stripping, sealing, waxing and polishing
* Cleaning offices, treatment rooms, labs and study areas by performing tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
* Cleaning, washing and maintaining all patient all patient contact items
* Collecting soiled linen and distributing clean linen according to guidelines
* Keeping current on training and education (WHMIS, Infection Control, housekeeping practices)
Qualifications
* Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare an asset
* Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 40 pounds
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
